Speed automatically controlled manual transmission
The automatically controlled manual transmission of the "MCP" type, launched on the Peugeot 308, represents a completely new product offering in the Peugeot range. Combined with the 1.6-litre HDi DPFS engine developing 80 kW (approx. 110 hp), this 6-speed automatically controlled manual transmission, allowing the clutch pedal to be eliminated, is a real alternative to conventional transmissions.
In automated mode, the automatically controlled manual transmission, thanks to its electronic management system optimising gear shifting time, permits a fuel consumption saving by comparison with a conventional manual gearbox. For example, on the 1.6 HDi DPFS 80 kW (approx. 110 hp), the 6-speed automatically controlled manual transmission gives a fuel saving of around 5% and will allow CO2 discharges to be lowered to a threshold of 120 g/km.
