PERFORMANCE
The aim of the 308 SW is to offer an optimum ratio between comfort and handling. Also equipped with excellent body rigidity, the 308 SW offers driving sensations derived from more streamlined saloon cars.
Petrol engine range
PSA Peugeot Citroën has developed and produced a family of petrol engines equipped with the very latest advances in technological progress. Their power output ranges from 120 bhp to 175 bhp and they establish new standards in terms of performance and smooth operation such as a reduction in fuel consumption and emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) (See chapter Emissions)
Diesel engine range
Developed by PSA Peugeot Citroën, Diesel HDi (High Pressure Direct Injection) technology continues to meet with growing success thanks to a fuel saving of more than 20% compared to an older generation diesel engine; and smooth driving is obtaining by torque available at low engine speed.
Road handling
The 308 SW has the advantage of an electro-hydraulic power-assisted steering system, pseudo McPherson type front axle and a deformable cross member rear axle. Furthermore, the wide tracks, the various large dimension tyres (up to 18’’) and also the lowered centre of inertia in comparison to the 307 SW, contribute towards the efficiency of this system.
